Coal Market report map

From a report to the City's Court of Common Council from Coal and Corn and Finance Committee: Coal market: clerk and registrar and his clerks.

The report is about the "duties, salaries and emoluments" of the Clerk and Registrar and his office following the extension of the coal duties boundary. It shows the 1861 boundary and boundary marks, together with the River Thames and railways (but not canals or roads). The extent of railways shown is consistent with a date of early 1868. An appendix to the report refers to "228 Boundaries on Rail, Canal and Road" broken down as 1 Thames, 22 railways, 4 canals, and 201 roads. It also marks about 60 depots for the sale and distribution of coal in the London District and just outside it.
